Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Cataloging Department to offer timely and accurate bibliographic control of library resources, in all formats, at the five campuses of Georgia Perimeter College (Clarkston, Decatur, Dunwoody, Newton, and Alpharetta Center). To accomplish this mission, the department provides quality cataloging, catalog maintenance, and authority control, in accordance with national standards for description and access and documented local policies and procedures.

 

Cataloging Statistics

GPC Item Count by Type and Create Date.pdf = This report tallies the number of items cataloged each semester, across all campus libraries, grouped by item type.

 

Special Cataloging Projects

The following document contains a master list of short- and long-term projects to be completed by cataloging staff in addition to their regular duties in the workflow. There is no timetable for these projects and they will be completed as time and resources permit. [Catalogers please note: See Amy for necessary reports and instructions for these projects.]
